Permanent Makeup Removal

What types of removal are there?

Removal of permanent makeup (PMU) has become one of the most in demand services recently.

There are several methods of PMU removal:

Cyrotherapy: This involves using liquid nitrogen in the skin at a freezing temperature. Unfortunately, the peeling effect not only attacks the superficial layer of the skin, but also takes deeper layers than those in which the tattoo is located.

Laser: No laser removal can guarantee the total elimination a tattoo. It can cause blisters, swelling, bleeding, redness and temporary darkening. It can cause hypo-pigmentation or hyper-pigmentation.  This can be corrected 6-12 months post procedure.

Dermabrasion: This involves freezing the area of the tattoo and later removing it by "filing or sanding the skin".  The first layer of skin is gradually removed until the total pigmentation is removed.  The area becomes smooth and develops a wound similar to a burn.  This wound later heals and either becomes a scar or disappears.

Even though all these methods are fast, they are also traumatic and are associated with high risk of complications, such as scarring and the appearance of hyper or hypo-pigmentation, especially on Latin or dark skin.

What type of Removal do I use?

Using a 3 step process, I use Angel Removal that is designed to remove tattoo pigment from the skin, in particular pigment from PMU treatments.  Angel removal is a safe, manual technique.  Depending on the age, skin type, pigment that was used and how old the tattoo is, will depend on how many sessions will be needed to either completely remove the tattoo or lighten it enough to reapply brows or lip blush.

What are the ingredients?

The active ingredients are the acids from antioxidant fruits such as rice, cocoa, and wheat, among others.

How long does the procedure take?

Depending on if we are doing a complete or partial removal of the brow or lips, the appointment can last any where from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours.
